Jalila Jam
Branding & Packaging Design | Passion Project

About the Brand
Jalila Jam is more than a jam brand - it is also a jam café concept, offering varieties of food and drinks made with the brand’s farm grown jams.
The name Jalila means great and magnificent in Arabic. The origins of jam making trace back to Mesopotamia and Egypt, and today as well, the largest jam factory in the Middle East is located in Egypt. Jalila Jam was named in honor of this history and legacy.
While the brand carries an Arabic name, Jalila Jam is proudly based in India. The name does not reflect Arabic cuisine - jam itself is not part of traditional Arab culinary identity but instead pays tribute to the ancient origins of fruit preservation in Mesopotamia and Egypt, where early forms of jam first emerged. Unlike the acceptance of global cuisines in India through restaurants and food cultures, this represents a different narrative: a historical connection rather than a culinary one.
Mission
To craft high-quality farm grown jams and create café experiences that celebrate fruit, flavor, and craftsmanship - offering customers a refined, everyday indulgence made with care and character.
Vision
To become a beloved jam and jam café brand known for its distinctive identity, exceptional quality, and memorable in-store experiences setting a new benchmark for premium fruit-based products in our market.
Color Palette
The colors of our packaging are guided by the fruits themselves, making it easy for customers to distinguish flavors at a glance. Each of them have their own distinct, solid color, carefully selected to reflect the character of the fruit while maintaining visual consistency across the range.
This color-led approach helps with clarity, simplicity, and ease of navigation for customers allowing each variant to stand out.

Logo Design
The logo uses the Arabic letter ج (Jeem), which represents the “J” in Jalila. Its form visually resembles the shape of a jar, making it a natural and meaningful foundation for the logo design. This visual connection was intentionally developed to create a distinctive mark that reflects both the product and the brand identity.
The accompanying typeface features a cursive style that complements the flowing, curved nature of Arabic script.

Final Design ( Front & Back )
The visual identity is intentionally kept clean and simple, having white outline illustrations of fruits along with classic gingham patterns traditionally associated with jam. This approach creates a recognizable, timeless look while reinforcing the brand’s connection to handcrafted, fruit-based products.
